At Willa Decjusza, culture does not happen by chance. Nothing here is accidental, temporary, or done “just because.” Ideas are developed, texts are given time and space, and artists receive real, long-term support. A perfect example of this approach is the Marathon of Dramatic Miniatures, taking place on 20 December at 7:00 PM at the Machinery Building of the Juliusz Słowacki Theatre in Kraków. This event did not appear out of nowhere. It grew out of a carefully designed creative process.

Holiday Saturday at Strzelnica na Woli was a day that clearly demonstrated the role a cultural institution can and should play at the local level. For several hours, Strzelnica became a space for meeting, conversation, shared creation and mindful togetherness. Over the course of the day, more than 100 people took part in the events – neighbours, families, children, seniors and visitors who simply wanted to spend time in an open and welcoming atmosphere.

The NGO networking meeting “Together Towards Our Goal” held at Strzelnica na Woli clearly demonstrated how essential open and accessible spaces for dialogue and cooperation are today. Strzelnica na Woli once again proved to be a place where the true heart of the local community beats. On November 28, 2025, the former shooting range transformed into a real ballroom — filled with music, laughter, dancing, and neighborhood energy. The Andrzejki dance party for seniors was not only an opportunity to celebrate together, but also a symbolic tribute to intergenerational connection and the joy of life.

The literary evening with Barbara Elmanowska, laureate of the Witold Gombrowicz Literary Award, became one of the most moving moments of this autumn at Villa Decius. The conversation, moderated by Dr habil. Anna Spólna, revealed the layers of Woliera – a novel powerful, tender, and painfully relevant. The meeting once again confirmed how central literature is to the mission of the Villa Decius Institute of Culture, especially now, as our new space at the Strzelnica on Wola allows us to expand this work even further.

The premiere at Villa Decius brought together not only readers but also members of the diplomatic corps, artists, and everyone for whom literature is a tool of dialogue. Authored by Professor Bożena Gierat-Bieroń, the publication examines the situation of Ukrainian artists living in Poland and Sweden during the war and offers recommendations for their integration into local and international cultural life.
