Books brought us together. Thank you for joining us at the fair! 24.10.2026
We came to the Kraków Book Fair with publications and stories spanning 30 years of Villa Decius’s activities. Sharing a stand with Biblioteka Kraków and KBF under the banner of Kraków UNESCO City of Literature, we had the opportunity to introduce you to part of that legacy. Above all, it was a chance to meet you and get to know one another a little better.
Some of our publications went home with you, while others were available to browse at the stand. They opened up conversations about what has taken shape at Villa Decius over the years and what we are working on today. Three decades hold many stories, but there is always room for new connections and ideas.
At our stand, visitors could meet the editors of “Radar”, create their own ducat, talk to Cuban poets and explore Villa Decius’s publications. Each activity offered a glimpse into a different part of our work.
Conversations with the editors of the Polish-German-Ukrainian magazine “Radar” offered an insight into producing a literary journal in several languages. Behind every finished issue are decisions and discussions that readers rarely get to see. The fair was an opportunity to ask the people who make the magazine about that work.
Meanwhile, “Poesia Libré – Free Poetry in a Captive Country” brought visitors together with Javier L. Mora and Zulema Gutierrez, Cuban poets and ICORN residents in Kraków. Their presence was a reminder of how important it is to have a place where people can write freely and share their work. This is a cause particularly close to Villa Decius’s heart.
We invited younger visitors to create their own ducats. In this way, Villa Decius’s history also found a place among the fair’s activities for children and young people – as an inspiration for making something of their own.
Thank you for your curiosity, questions, memories and the time you spent at our stand. We also thank Biblioteka Kraków and KBF for sharing the space and working with us.
The fair may be over, but you can visit Villa Decius throughout the year. We look forward to seeing you again.
