Tymon Kosma at Strzelnica na Woli - a vibraphone that captivated the audience 25.10.2026

On 25 October, we gathered at Strzelnica na Woli to experience the music of Tymon Kosma. Part of the Nowe Brzmienia (New Sounds) concert series, the evening revealed the vibraphone’s remarkable range of possibilities. The instrument itself, and the artist’s way of bringing out its many voices, proved a hit with the audience. It was a magical evening, shaped by music, a sense of closeness and the shared experience of attentive listening.
Tymon Kosma is a vibraphonist and composer who combines virtuosity with a sensitivity to subtle sounds. Moving freely between jazz and experimentation, he seeks his own forms of musical expression. His stage presence, signature smile and joy in performing welcome audiences into his world, regardless of their previous experience with jazz.

During the concert at Strzelnica, the vibraphone became the narrator of a series of short musical stories. Delicate melodies met pronounced rhythms, while simple motifs unfolded into more complex passages. Kosma demonstrated how a percussion instrument can tell a story with an expressiveness close to that of the human voice. Contrasts between energy and quiet reflection revealed further shades of its sound.

This openness to different musical languages is reflected in the artist’s wider work. Tymon is a member of Kosmonauci, whose debut album “Sorry, nie tu” was released in 2024, and the trio Product May Contain, which won the 2026 Fryderyk Award for Jazz Recording Debut of the Year. He also performs with the Michał Aftyka Quintet and Paulina Przybysz’s band, with whom he recorded her 2025 album “Insides”. In each of these collaborations, the vibraphone takes on a different role and character. The concert at Strzelnica offered an opportunity to focus on the musical personality behind that sound.

We thank Tymon for his musical imagination and an evening full of emotion, and our audience for joining us, listening so attentively and sharing this time together.

Encounters like this reflect the role we want Strzelnica na Woli to play. Run by the Villa Decius Institute for Culture, this historic venue is a place for local residents — a welcoming space for experiencing culture together, having conversations and getting to know one another. Through the Nowe Brzmienia series, we introduce audiences to artists and create opportunities to discover music in a friendly atmosphere. We want culture to feel close and accessible here, and each event to offer another opportunity to strengthen neighbourhood connections.
