Kontakt Choir is an open amateur choir driven by ideas of diversity and multiculturalism concerning both presented repertoir and personal composition. The choir is composed of singers of different nationalities who perform in 17 languages. It appeared on Krakow's musical map in spring 2015. Since the beginning, it has been driven by ideas of diversity and multiculturalism concerning both presented repertoir and personal composition.
The choir became a meeting place for professional musicians and amateurs, the old and the young, people of different professions and different passions outside of music, from near and far corners of Europe and the world. Its repertoire covers pieces by great composers such as Bach or Mozart, Renaissance music, film scores, and traditional melodies of the whole world. The choir draws from the diversity of oriental music, but the pieces performed include compositions from Africa, America and the Far East as well. Their concerts transport the audience into a musical journey around the world, make the foreign familiar, and reveal the unknown. In 2020, the choir was awarded with a title of Krakow Ambassador of Multiculturalism A.D. 2019.
