LEM Constellation: technology – criticism – art
Intermedia art exhibition
Bronisław Chromy Gallery (Decius Park)
8–31 October 2021
Curator: Mateusz Świderski
We would like to invite you to an exhibition titled "LEM Constellation: technology – critics – art" showcasing intermedia artworks by young artists.
The exhibition vernissage will take place on 8th October (Friday) at 6 p.m. at Bronisław Chromy Gallery (Decius Park). Live music by ixc999x will accompany the event.
"Yesterday's rarity becomes today's cliché, and today's exception becomes tomorrow's rule" – the slogan of the Year of Lem borrowed from his novel "The chain of chance" acquires a special meaning in the context of the accelerating development of technology, which marks people's attitude towards the world more and more significantly. In his works, Stanisław Lem predicted the technological future: robots, machines, informational devices and techniques, which were merely a creation of science-fiction in his books, are today's standard and cocreate our reality.
The exhibition serves as a commentary on the reality marked by technology. It is driven by a belief that intermedia art, whose "natural environment" is the space of technological advances, shows the hidden beauty of technology, but also performs a cricital function, pointing out its hazards. The work of Stanisław Lem is a priceless source of inspiration to the authors of this exhibition.

Sandra Bąk
Estera Gałuszka
Konrad Gubała
