Art Picnic is a week-long festival presenting Ukrainian art and language. The festival will take place at the Villa Decius - a one of a kind meeting place, open for cultures and traditions from all around the world.

Art Picnic is a week-long festival presenting Ukrainian art and language. The festival will take place at the Villa Decius - a one of a kind meeting place, open for cultures and traditions from all around the world.
Villa Decius - founded by an Alsatian Justus Decius is a unique space on the map of Cracow. It is not by chance that Art Picnic takes place there because the Villa represents what is an integral part of Cracow’s identity: an open mind. The city has always been richly drawing from visitors and newcomers' cultural heritage and blending it into its own. The new residents moving to Cracow are all bringing a part of their own identity which is enriching local community. We owe a lot to the expats who decided to live, create, work and teach here. Each year the number of foreign nationals living and working in Cracow grows and they contribute significantly to the city’s cultural assets. The key to successful use of these resources is common and creative cooperation through better integration of residents, creative sector and urban groups as well as by building a common identity.
The Ukrainian community is one of the largest foreign nationals groups in Cracow. Art Picnic will be a great opportunity to put a spotlight on their rich and multidimensional culture. One of the most important events is an exhibition of Ukrainian artists.
This year’s festival will take place in a new formula. Many different events presenting the Ukrainian culture and arts will happen at Villa Decius and the nearby park between 24th and 30th of August 2020.

The official opening of the Art Picnic will take place on Monday 24th of August 2020 at 12.30 in presence of the General Consul of Ukraine in Cracow as well as representatives of organizers - Mrs. Dominika Kasprowicz (director of the Villa Decius Institute of Culture) and Mrs. Slawa Frolowa - representing Modern Ukrainian Art Development and Support Fund and the artistic director of Art Picnic.
The Picnic will be organized around thematic zones - each of them dedicated to the Ukrainian art, music, fashion, cuisine, literature, lectures, sports and dance. There will also be a workshop zone (including activities for the kids). We invite you to participate in one or many activities: art and photo exhibitions, drawing classes, scrapbooking and embroidery class, language course, make-up workshop, garland weaving class, folklore songs singing class (with interpreting) and concerts of Ukrainian jazz, classical and folk music.
The General Consul of Ukraine in Cracow took honorary patronage over the Art Picnic.
