Art and life 27.01.2024

Meeting with Maria Anna Potocka around her latest book 'Art and Life'.
The Austeria Publishing House and the Villa Decius Institute for Culture would like to invite you to the Villa Decius on Wednesday 31 January at 6 p.m. for the premiere of Maria Anna Potocka's latest book "Art and Life". The meeting will be hosted by Grzegorz Jankowicz.

What is art and where does it come from? What does visuality do to us and why our individual stories depend on what we see and the images we have access to. In her latest book, Maria Anna Potocka asks the most fundamental questions about the relationship between art and life.
Joseph Beuys, Jiří Kolář, Krystian Lupa, Boris Lurie, Herta Muller, Agnieszka Osiecka, Mieczysław Porębski, Daniel Spoerri or Wisława Szymborska are just a modest excerpt from a rich catalogue of names and artworld personalities and peculiarities, which shows not only the scale of the author's involvement in the artistic field, but is also a space for seeking answers to fundamental questions about art.
To this end, Potocka traces individual artistic languages. What conclusion emerges from this investigation - based on reading art - will be discussed with the author of the book by Grzegorz Jankowicz.

The book, published by Austeria Publishing House, will be available for purchase during the event.
Admission to the meeting is free. Registration is required at: https://cutt.ly/owKSrjnV
