After Art Picnic. Visegrad Days. 08.07.2021
On July 1-4, 2021, the Art Picnic at Villa Decius took place. Visegrad Days.
This year, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Visegrad Group, the Villa Decius Institute for Culture has organized the Art Picnic dedicated to the V4 countries.
In cooperation with numerous cultural institutions - embassies and institutes - we have prepared exhibitions, film projects, a concert, a literary meeting, as well as a presentation of cuisine and sports from Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland.
On July 1, an open-air traveling poster exhibition from the V4 countries "PoszTerra" was opened with the participation of Tibor Gerencsér, Consul General of Hungary in Krakow. The exhibition is an overview of posters from cultural events by artists from Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and their students. The exhibition is curated by Krzysztof Ducki
The exhibition will be on display until the end of July 2021 in the lower courtyard of the Villa Decius.
After the opening of the "PoszTerra" exhibition, there was a tasting of Hungarian mangalica stew, prepared outdoors by "Hungarian Specialties”, as well as a special show combined with a historical lecture on Hungarian wines, prepared by the PORTIUS Association in Krosno.
Sports enthusiasts, on the other hand, could watch professional teqball players in the Villa Decius Gothic Garden and try their hand at this spectacular dexterity-intensive discipline devised by two Hungarian football fans.
On Friday, July 2, the"Literary Center of Europe" meeting was held as part of the Art Picnic at Villa Decius. The discussion led by Aleksandra Hudymač was attended by: Pavol Rankov (Slovakia), Alena Mornštajnová (Czech Republic), Aleksander Kaczorowski (Poland) and Ferenc Czinki (Hungary) - scholarship holders of Villa Decius residency programs.
Participants of the Art Picnic on the Villa's terrace overlooking the park could listen to an energetic concert by the BalkanArtz band, which combines traditional music with modern arrangements.
On the third day of Art Picnic at Villa Decius, the exhibition of monotypes and sculptures "Botanical Dream no.11" was opened by prof. Milan Lukáč with the participation of Tomáš Kašaj, Consul General of the Slovak Republic in Krakow and the Slovak artist himself.
The exhibition is an artistic time travel – the artist’s return to his childhood and his fascination with nature. The exhibition, inspired by the flora and fauna of the childhood garden, presents sculptures and prints which create a mythical space: close and intimate, but also symbolizing the whole world and life.
The exhibition can be viewed at the Villa Decius until the end of July 2021.
On Sunday, July 4, the opening of the open-air exhibition "Visegrad is People" was held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Visegrad Group in Krakow's Planty Park, with the participation of Tibor Gerencsér, Hungarian Consul General in Krakow.
The exhibition is divided into several subject areas, such as history, culture, people, cross-border cooperation, education, aspects of innovation and solidarity. It aims at highlighing the role of the V4 communities at different levels and showing the power of international cooperation on a local and global scale.
THE HONORARY PATRONAGE over the exhibition was assumed by WITOLD KOZŁOWSKI, MARSHAL OF THE MAŁOPOLSKIE PROVINCE
The exhibition can be viewed in Planty (between Poselska Street and Wawel) until the end of July 2021.
