In the spirit of Chopin
We invite you to a concert by pianist Witold Wilczek and graduates of the Academy of Music in Kraków.
On Sunday 14 April at 5 p.m., we invite you to Villa Decius for an intimate concert entitled 'In the spirit of Chopin.
Krakow pianist Witold Wilczek and his students, who are preparing for their graduation recitals and competitions, will perform selected works by Fryderyk Chopin and composers who refer to his legacy. We will hear works by Stefan Heller and Franz Liszt - Hungarian authors of the Romantic period - and the Norwegian pianist and conductor Edward Grieg, which reflect the influence of Chopin's pianism on the work of his contemporaries. The centrepiece of the musical programme will be Gaspard de la nuit, one of the greatest piano masterpieces by Maurice Ravel. The three-movement suite inspired by the poem by Aloysius Bertrand is a culmination of the continuation of both expression and pianistic technique flowing from the Chopin tradition.
