Chamber Music Recital
A concert presenting little-known Polish works of violin music literature.
We would like to invite you to Villa Decius on Wednesday 4 December at 6 p.m. for an event as part of the 15th Sfogato International Music and Art Festival.
The programme will include little-known yet extremely valuable items from the repertoire of Polish music. Works by Polish composers Michał Józefowicz, Józef Witwicki and Stanisław Serwaczyński, despite their unquestionable artistic value, do not appear in the repertoires of concert violinists. The Wieniawski brothers' Grand Duo Polonais appear sporadically in concert programmes. Marek Polański, the violinist, and Grzegorz Biegas, the pianist, jointly prepared an album whose main message is to show the beauty and value of compositions by our native artists. This project, aimed at promoting forgotten Polish music, was awarded a scholarship by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
Performers:
Marek Polański - violin
Grzegorz Biegas - piano
The event is realised in cooperation with the Sfogato Music and Art Society.
