Women's Day at Villa Decius 08.03.2025
Women in history, women in the community, women leaders
We would like to invite you to a meeting on the occasion of Women's Day, which will take place on 8 March 2025 at 15:30 at Villa Decius. In the historic interiors of this Renaissance residence, we will talk about the power and role of women in Polish history, their importance in building local communities and the value of social involvement.
The meeting will provide an opportunity for an inspiring exchange of ideas about women's activity in the public space, their contribution to society and their role in shaping the future.
Villa Decius, for centuries a meeting place for eminent intellectuals and artists, had its extraordinary owners who shaped its character. One of them was Marcelina Czartoryska - an aristocrat, pianist and pupil of Fryderyk Chopin, who turned the villa into a centre of cultural and social life in the 19th century. Her story will inspire conversations about women who change the world around them through their activism.
During the event we will meet women leaders, social activists and history enthusiasts who will share their experiences and reflections. Together, we will reflect on how women have influenced and continue to influence reality - both in the past and today.
The meeting will be attended by:
Speaker of the Senate of the Republic of Poland Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska
Deputy Speaker of the Polish Sejm Dorota Niedziela
Deputy Mayor of the City of Krakow Maria Klaman the conversation will be moderated by Dominika Kasprowicz, Director of Villa Decius.
All those interested in the topics of history, community and the role of women in society are welcome! Let this meeting become an opportunity for inspiring conversations, sharing experiences and building new bonds.
After the meeting, we invite you to take a guided tour of Villa Decius along a special path - dedicated to the role of women in the history of this unique building.
