On Sunday 4 June - the Day of Freedom and Civil Rights and a historically important day for democratic Poland - the guest of honour of "Culture in exile" event will be Svetlana Tsikhanouskaya - leader of democratic Belarus, candidate for the presidency of Belarus in the presidential election in 2020 rigged by the authorities.
In August 2022, she announced her intention to establish an interim government of Belarus under her leadership.
In January 2023, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus recognised Svetlana Tsikhanovskaya's structures as an extremist grouping.
In March 2023, a Belarusian court sentenced Tikhanouskaya in absentia to 15 years in prison.
