Stand with Ukraine! 15.02.2024
We invite you to a meeting about Ukraine.
Stand with Ukraine! As the second anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine approaches, it’s crucial to remember that violating the borders of an independent state goes against fundamental principles of international law and peaceful coexistence. Beyond the immediate horrors of war – the destruction of cities and villages, the loss of loved ones – there is a systematic effort to erode Ukraine's cultural heritage. When the aim is to undermine Ukrainian society, preserving its cultural and scientific legacy becomes paramount for the nation’s future. Authoritarian regimes consistently view culture as a threat to their power, as it fosters reflection on the world and critical thinking.
On the eve of the anniversary of the outbreak of the war, Villa Decius together with the Office of the Advocate for Academic Rights and Values of the Jagiellonian University and the Department of Ukrainian Studies of the Jagiellonian University would like to invite you to a meeting about Ukrainian culture on Friday, 23 February at 2 p.m. at Potocki Palace in Krakow (Rynek Główny 20).
The meeting will be attended by: Larysa Dovga (uculture), Iryna Fesiuk (Faculty of Law and Administration, Jagiellonian University); Katarzyna Glinianowicz, Tomasz Hodana (Department of Ukrainian Studies, Jagiellonian University).
The meeting will be honoured by a musical performance by Dmytro Holovenka.
Admission to the event is free.
