Piano music of the 20th and 21st centuries 15.12.2024
We invite you to the last of the series of historical concerts at Villa Decius.
On 15 December at 5 p.m., we invite you to Villa Decius for the ninth and final concert in the series of historical piano recitals. Marcin Koziak's programme will include: works by: C. Vine, P. Mykietyn, P. Vasks, T. Takemitsu, G. Ligeti, M. Blake.
After the concert, we invite you to listen to a short lecture and talk with the artist. During the meeting, Marcin Koziak will talk about classical Australian, African and Asian music, as well as the interweaving of film, TV series and theatre music with classical music, which is characteristic of many works by Paweł Mykietyn, Carl Vine or John Corigliano. Musical terms will be discussed: improvisation, romanticism, jazz, as well as transcriptions of works written for a different instrument from the original. The artist will also reveal what piano preparations are and what surprising and diverse preparation methods can be found in contemporary piano compositions.
