Four-handed concert 07.07.2024
We invite you to a concert by Ghadeer Abaido and Svetozar Ivanov.
On Sunday, 7 July at 5.30 pm, we invite you to Villa Decius for a concert in a unique performance by a piano duo. The two pianists Ghadeer Abaido and Svetozar Ivanov will perform works by J.S. Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Franz Schubert for four hands.
Between the musical pieces, we will hear the text of a poem by English author John Keats (1795-1821) interpreted by Seth Travaglino.

Svetozar Ivanov is Professor of Piano at the University of South Florida, and has also taught piano classes at the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival in Vermont, the Brancaleoni Music Festival in Italy, the Prague Piano Festival in the Czech Republic, the Walled City Piano Festival in Northern Ireland, and is the Artistic Director of the Steinway Piano Series in Florida, as well as the newly established Brancaleoni International Piano Competition. He is a Steinway Artist and holds degrees from the Bulgarian National Conservatory and the University of Michigan (Doctor of Musical Arts). The artist has given numerous recitals and concerts with orchestra around the world.
Svetozar Ivanov is particularly known for his original projects, combining different art forms (documentaries, art films, animations, poetry, short stories, live dance, paintings, lights). His DVD 'Perpetual Tango', a synthesis of music, movement, multimedia, was released by the Naxos label in 2018.
Ghadeer Abaido is a Palestinian-Jordanian pianist with extensive experience, ranging from performing classical works as a soloist to working with chamber ensembles and orchestras in the Middle East, Europe and the United States. Ghadeer Abaido obtained her bachelor's degree from the National Conservatory of Music in Jordan. She worked briefly in Dubai as a film music composer, and her works have won Lynx awards and been presented at the Dubai International Film Festival. In 2017, she moved to the United States, where she completed her master's degree at the University of South Florida under the guidance of Professor Svetozar Ivanov. She then pursued her doctoral studies in piano performance at the University of Iowa from 2019 to 2022 under the direction of Dr Rene Lecuona. She has also participated in masterclasses under world-renowned pianists such as Ralf Gothoni, Valentina Lisitsa, Antonio Pompa-Baldi and Richard Goode.
Ghadeer Abaido performs chamber music and arranges orchestral works for marimba and piano in duo with William Brown. The Abaido-Brown duo first met at the University of South Florida, debuting with an electrifying performance of Danse Macabre. Ghadeer Abaido currently works as an adjunct professor at the University of South Florida and as an instructor at Tampa Bay Music Academy.
