Artistic Paper Cut-Out Workshop with Daria Alyoshkina at Strzelnica na Woli – Event Recap 31.01.2026
At Strzelnica na Woli, we hosted an artistic paper cut-out workshop for adults led by Daria Alyoshkina. The session was filled with attentiveness, warm energy, and hands-on work with paper. Every participant left with a handmade paper cut-out created using Daria’s template.
On Saturday, 31 January 2026, Strzelnica na Woli turned into a creative studio where paper became a story of rhythm, symbolism, and harmony. The workshop was led by Daria Alyoshkina—an artist and sculptor, a graduate of the Lviv National Academy of Arts, and a creator known for reviving the Ukrainian paper cut-out tradition and transforming it into a contemporary artistic language.
The session was practical and deeply focused at the same time. Participants learned the basics of the paper cut-out technique, explored composition, and worked with paper at an unhurried pace that encouraged attention to detail and process. The atmosphere mattered just as much: kindness, smiles, and a sense of shared making. This helped even first-time participants feel comfortable and confident.
The result was tangible and personal. Each participant left with an original handmade piece—a paper cut-out completed individually using Daria Alyoshkina’s template. Despite a shared starting point, the works varied widely: different cutting rhythms, different accents, different approaches. This diversity highlighted how creative potential is unlocked when traditional craft meets thoughtful guidance.
The workshop was part of the cultural programme at Strzelnica na Woli, a space developed by the Willa Decjusza Institute of Culture as a place for community gatherings, artistic activities, and local engagement. We would like to thank everyone who took part for their presence, focus, and wonderful energy—and especially Daria Alyoshkina for inspiring leadership and an exceptional workshop.
