Piano Recital by Piotr Marek at the Villa Decius
On Sunday, October 12 at 5:00 p.m., we invite you to the Villa Decius for a piano recital by Piotr Marek, a pianist endowed with exceptional musicality, perfect pitch, and great sensitivity.
The artist has prepared a diverse repertoire, featuring works by Polish composers Karol Szymanowski and Mieczysław Karłowicz, as well as pieces by Joseph Haydn and Samuel Barber.
The concert will conclude with one of the transcriptions of Johann Sebastian Bach’s works by Ferruccio Busoni (1866–1924), the Italian pianist and composer whose adaptations made it possible to perform Bach’s music on the piano.
The Chaconne, a monumental 13-minute composition for solo violin, is regarded by many musicians and scholars as one of the greatest masterpieces of violin literature, combining perfection of form, technical brilliance, and profound emotional depth. Numerous composers have attempted their own piano interpretations of this work – among them, Ferruccio Busoni.
Admission is free.
