The Sfogato Music & Arts Society and Villa Decius Institute of Culture are pleased to invite you to Chopin Soirée entitled “In the Salon of Princess Marcelina Czartoryska and Prince Antoni Radziwiłł” on the October 17, 2025, 18:00. The concert is held to celebrate the 250th anniversary of birth of Prince Antoni Radziwiłł, on the 176th anniversary of the death of Fryderyk Chopin and on the 131st anniversary of the death of Princess Marcelina Czartoryska. Program: Fryderyk Chopin and the music of composers from the Romantic period which repertoire, both verbal and musical, draws inspiration from the 19th-century artistic salons hosted by aristocrats and friends of Fryderyk Chopin. The evening’s program will feature works by Fryderyk Chopin in versions for violin and piano, including the Mazurka in A minor, Op. 67, No. 4, dedicated to Princess Marcelina Czartoryska; the Chorale from Faust by Prince Antoni Radziwiłł, arranged for solo piano, complementing Chopin’s Preludes, which the composer used to perform on the organ in the Visitationist Church in Warsaw; as well as compositions referencing the history of Villa Decius, where Chopin’s last student, Princess Marcelina Czartoryska, lived. The repertoire of musical works will be complemented by a lecture presenting the history of the activities of the Artistic Salon of Princess Marcelina Czartoryska and Prince Antoni Radziwiłł.
